The Greater Cincinnati Gay Chamber of Commerce is happy to announce a new Listings Resource Guide manager, Brian Heim, of Brian Heim Designs.

 

The Listings Resource Guide covers from 1988 – 2007

The out-going Listings manager is Fred Martens, of Martens’ Art, who made the decision to pass the book leadership on.


Fred could not be more pleased. “Brian has terrific design and management skills, and has a fantastic amount of experience designing for the GLBT community as well. The Listings is in GREAT hands.” If Fred is need, he will be happy to assist during the transition.

Starting as the Listings designer in1988, Fred has loved seeing the book grow from a photocopied small publication, to a full color book with many features added over the years, including AIDS resources, anti-bullying information, a legal “Know Your Rights” section, to name a few.

A fund-raiser for the Gay Chamber, the Listings has matured from a volunteer-driven project, to compensating the Listing team, while making a profit for the Gay Chamber’s use, as well as helping local businesses, and helping community organizations with the free Community Listings section.

This had never been a solitary project, Fred emphasizes. “I have loved working with many fantastic designers, printers, sales and production people, as well as working with over 20 years of committed board members over this time.”

About starting his job as the new Listings leader, Brian says “The gay chamber is behind this project 110%, and will assist in any way they can. It is a bit scary anticipating the time commitment, but I am going to JUST DO IT.”
